Kuyt

Patisserie Kuyt has been a household name in the Amsterdam Utrechtsestraat for decades. Since the 1970s, Amsterdammers have found their way to this classic patisserie for artisanal cakes, pastries, biscuits and bonbons. Behind the characteristic shop window, many products are still prepared in the traditional way, with an eye for craftsmanship and quality. Especially the apple pie, cream pastries and festive cakes have earned the place a loyal band of enthusiasts. In addition to the shop, Kuyt also has a cosy tearoom, where you can enjoy coffee with a fresh piece of pastry – a beloved stop during a walk through the Utrechtsestraat.
Where does the name come from?
The name Kuyt comes from founder and master patissier Klaas Kuyt, who built the place up into one of the best-known patisseries of Amsterdam. Although the business now has a new owner, the family name has been retained as a tribute to the craftsmanship and reputation built up over decades.
Fun fact
Patisserie Kuyt has for years supplied pastries to various cafés and hospitality venues in the neighbourhood. As a result, there is a good chance that somewhere in Amsterdam you enjoy a piece of cake from Kuyt without immediately realising it. The quality of the pastries has made the patisserie a fixed favourite among many Amsterdammers.
