Lanskroon

Lanskroon is one of the best-known artisanal pastry bakeries of Amsterdam and has been a fixed value on the Singel for more than a century. Behind the historic façade, fresh bread, pastries, biscuits and the famous Koningsstroopwafels (king’s syrup waffles) are baked daily. The bakery is known for its traditional working method: the dough is processed by hand and prepared according to an own recipe, which makes the stroopwafels extra thin and crispy. In addition to the shop there is a cosy tearoom where you can enjoy coffee with fresh pastry or a warm stroopwafel. Thanks to the craftsmanship and the authentic atmosphere, Lanskroon has grown into a beloved place for both Amsterdammers and visitors to the city.
Where does the name come from?
The name Lanskroon has been used since 1958. Although the bakery itself has existed longer, the name was retained when the business changed owners. By now Lanskroon has grown into a household name in Amsterdam and the name is synonymous with artisanal pastry and the iconic Koningsstroopwafels.
Fun fact
The famous Koningsstroopwafels of Lanskroon are not baked in a traditional stroopwafel iron. The dough is first rolled out very thinly, then given a night to dry and only baked the next morning. It is precisely that special working method that provides the extra crispy structure for which Lanskroon has been known for generations.
