Pita Queen
Pita Queen is a popular hotspot in Amsterdam-Oost where the classic pita gets a contemporary twist. Since its opening in 2015 the place has been known for richly filled pitas with fresh, homemade ingredients and flavours from the Middle East and the Mediterranean cuisine. The menu features, among other things, slowly cooked meat, falafel, grilled vegetables, creamy hummus and fresh salads, all served in freshly baked pitas. Everything is prepared fresh daily, which is why Pita Queen is loved by both local residents and visitors looking for a quick, healthy and flavourful meal. The informal atmosphere and the focus on quality have given the place a fixed spot among the culinary addresses of Amsterdam-Oost in a short time.
Where does the name come from?
The name Pita Queen refers to the leading role the pita plays on the menu. With the addition ‘Queen’, the place wants to show that the modest pita is elevated to the centre here: generously filled, freshly prepared and with high-quality ingredients.
Fun fact
All pitas are developed by Chef Mo, who is also known from Amsterdam hospitality venues such as Bo Cinq and Madam Pancake. Before a pita goes on the menu, it is extensively tested for flavour and the perfect combination of ingredients.
