The Hoxton Lounge & Bar

The Hoxton Lounge & Bar is located on the Herengracht, in the middle of the lively Nine Streets. The bar forms the beating heart of The Hoxton Hotel, which since 2015 has been housed in five historic 17th-century canal houses. The interior feels like a stylish living room, with comfortable sofas, vintage furniture, art on the walls and a relaxed atmosphere. You can go there for a good cup of coffee, an extensive lunch, drinks or creative cocktails. The nice thing is that not only hotel guests settle down here; many Amsterdammers also use the Lounge & Bar as a workspace, a meeting place or simply to escape the bustle of the city for a while. It is a place where the international character of Amsterdam and the convivial atmosphere of the canal belt come together perfectly.
Where does the name come from?
The name The Hoxton refers to the London district of Hoxton in East London. That is where the very first Hoxton hotel opened in 2006. When the hotel chain expanded to Amsterdam, the name was kept as a tribute to the district where the concept originated. The Amsterdam branch was moreover the very first Hoxton outside London.
