Boerenmarkt op Haarlemmerplein

Every Wednesday the Haarlemmerplein transforms into a convivial farmers’ market where producers from all over the Netherlands sell their fresh products. Where does the name come from?
The name Farmers’ Market (Boerenmarkt) speaks for itself: the market is originally intended as a place where farmers and artisanal producers sell their products directly to the consumer. The Haarlemmerplein has been a central location for this for years, on the edge of the Jordaan and the Haarlemmerbuurt.
