Cinnamood is the hotspot for lovers of cinnamon buns. The German bakery chain opened its first Dutch branch on the Leidsestraat in 2025 and grew at lightning speed into a popular destination for anyone with a sweet tooth. Here everything revolves around the ‘Next Level Cinnamon Roll’: airy cinnamon buns with generous toppings such as pistachio, cookie dough, red velvet, salted caramel and cheesecake. The colourful display cases and the smell of freshly baked cinnamon make it hard to simply walk past. Besides the classic cinnamon rolls, Cinnamood also serves specialty coffee and seasonal specials, which makes it a beloved stop during a day of shopping in the city centre. Cinnamood now has several branches in Amsterdam.
Where does the name come from?
The name Cinnamood is a combination of ‘cinnamon’ and ‘mood’. The brand wants to show that a fresh cinnamon bun is not only tasty, but also gives your mood a boost. The slogan ‘Next Level Cinnamon Rolls’ ties in with this perfectly.
Fun fact
Cinnamood was only founded in 2022 in the German city of Cologne, but grew within a few years into an international chain with dozens of branches. The Amsterdam shop on the Leidsestraat was the very first branch in the Netherlands and formed the kick-off for further expansion in the Netherlands and Belgium.
