Where does the name come from?
The name The Nine Streets refers to the nine cross streets that connect the Heren-, Keizers- and Prinsengracht. Since the 1990s the area has grown into a beloved destination for small, independent entrepreneurs. It is precisely for that reason that today you find so many characterful cafés here instead of large hospitality chains.
