Meat & Greek brings the flavours of Greek street food to the heart of Amsterdam, with the classic gyros in the leading role. Where does the name come from?
The name Meat & Greek is a nod to the combination of ‘meat’ and ‘Greek’. At the same time the name plays with expectation: as the venue’s own slogan says, “It’s not just meat…”. Besides the classic gyros there are also vegetarian options, and everything revolves around fresh, authentic Greek flavours.
Fun fact
Although gyros is the absolute specialty, the bread is not simply bought in. Meat & Greek works together with a Greek artisanal baker, so that the pitas have the same flavour and structure as in Greece. That makes the experience extra authentic.
